Interest Group Comic, Cartoon, Illustration and Animated Film e.V. ICOM

The Comic, Cartoon, Illustration and Animated Film Association (ICOM) was founded in 1981 to provide a forum for the exchange of opinions and information for illustrators and authors scattered throughout Germany and thus improve their professional situation.

Similar to the graphic design sector, comic, cartoon, illustration and animated film creators also need a professional association that can formulate their specific problems and wishes, implement solutions and create infrastructures. The increasing demands placed on comics in German-speaking countries also make it necessary for as many creatives as possible to become more organised in order to ensure that their rights can be exercised and protected.

ICOM has been the operator of toonsUp since mid-2024.
