Cool. We have a thriving music environment here. Jazz, trad, indie, rock... hey, we have to try to make up for Boyzone and Westlife
If you do like Irish trad, De Danann are good also, and Christy Moore is magic live - we saw him at the Concert Hall here in Limerick a few years back. Anúna are a choral group - very atmospheric. Give a listen to Planxty, Paul Brady, and maybe Horslips? or Thin Lizzy? Not strictly trad, but they define "Whiskey in the Jar"!
@ Leichnam & cSTRAUSS: Danke nochmals. Diese in die Länge gezogenen Comic-Sprechbasen-Strips, die damit spielen, dass die Pointe auf der Startseite nicht zu sehen ist, funktionieren insbesondere auf Blogs ganz hervorragend.
@ des: Well, the German word "Dudelsack" is the general term for bagpipes, but my gag refers to the Irish version since I started learning to play the fiddle last year. Gee, I would have loved to listen to that session in Limerick! Your daughter must have been pretty proud to have participated in a session with The Chieftains. (They're well known in Germany.) Hopefully I'll be able to join in some session in Ireland some day. At the moment, I'm listening a lot to Kevin Burke, Martin Hayes, but also to Liz Carroll or Altan on a legal music streaming website called deezer.
"Dudelsack"????? That's a great name for Uileann Pipes. Also a great cartoon.
Speaking of Irish music and Uileann pipes, my daughter is studying Voice and Dance at University of Limerick - the new building was opened last week, and my wife and myself went along to the ceremony. The Chieftains (you might have heard of them - Irish tradititional music group) are sort of musicians-in-residence there, and they played a wonderful session as part of the opening celebrations. My daughter also sang as part of the choir.
der funktionierte bei mir auch perfekt, weil ich bei meiner bildschirmauflösung zuerst gar nicht das bild gesehen, sondern die schrift hinabgewandert bin...
könnte man vielleicht auch in 2 bildern bringen??!
