No i didn't! I drew that pic complete outta my hand. I think it was luck. In my case it is always the same either the pic is good or its crap, but it seems that it is a good hint to draw such weapon stuff in double size. You have more possibilities to vary. I work with a similar tech in my actual comic.
i died a hundred times trying to paint a soldier with half-automatic gun in his hand but the results are very frustrating. i later learned that you have to draw the things at least in double the size, than you are using them later. do you do that too? your work is nice and tight. no questioning that.... the original is therefore much bigger than the file we see, right or wrong? any tipps you have, when drawing works like this one?
