Gary Larson is a gem among gems. How about this: Frank come to the girl telling her, looking very satisfied, "I followed the easter bunny and found all these nice tasty chocolat maltballs. I ate all of them" Girl: What chocolat maltballs? Frank: pointing to the ground. See, some are left. (One see a line of maltballs) You want? Girl: Oh, I think they are all yours.
Yeah, I know. Unfortunately, I made the joke much too subtle. My take sometimes for humor is sometimes if you don't see it, it makes the joke funnier. But in this case, I guess it didn't come out quite the way I wanted. As an afterthought, I thought maybe if I had Frank say that there was a "pile" of chocolate malt balls on the floor, maybe readers would have gotten the joke? Who knows?
Well boy, all I can say is things like this happens from time to time. Have you ever read the old comic panel "The Far Side" by Gary Larson? Well if you have, then I guess this comic of mine can be considered my version of The Far Side's "Cow Tools" comic. If you never read it, then what I'm referring to is a comic Gary Larson did where he simply had a cow standing behind a table with obscure looking items in front of it, and the caption just read "cow tools". This caused a flood of letters to the newspapers the comic was in asking them what does this comic mean? So as I said, things like this happens from time to time.
Why should Frank eat not these nice tasty chocolat maltballs? I know what you are intending, grin....But the joke doesnt work very good, because one has too much to puzzle...The Idea is great, but the presentation is not clear Ah, now I have seen the Komments on the german version....
