Pheasants

These were two paintings I did for a pub called (duh!) The Pheasant.

They are 8' x 4'using ordinary emulsion or house paint on hardboard - another instance of not doing anything remotely "artistic". They were fun to paint, but I was told afterwards that two male pheasants wouldn't appear so close together in a single scene - or something like that. Who knew? I'm a cartoonist, not an ornithologist.

Still, I should've done my research. :(

On the other hand, I bet it gave rise to a lot of debate in the pub. Nothing quite like a pointless argument in an Irish pub. :)

Regrettably, the pub has since closed. Another victim of the recession.sad.gif

Still, if ToonsUp comes to Ireland, I will gladly do my own version of Riverdance in honour of the occasion. giggle.gifbiggrin.gifdrool.gif
