On The Beach

Got a request to paint a sort of 1950's beach postcard as a photographer's gimmick. The faces will be cut out and hinged so that the willing public can put their faces in place of the cartoon characters. Sounds odd, but that's what some folks enjoy. Mine not to reason why, mine just to paint it up and get paid...hopefully.

By the way, in answer to Matthias Kringe's request for "the ladies" a while back... Be careful what you ask for Matthias ;) . I hope this answers your request a bit.

@ Rob: If you look carefully, the fish is not happy. Also the two turtles are kinda surprised, but not particularly interested.

Otherwise, what's not to be happy about? The sun is shining (that's the sun wearing sunglasses upper right over the ladies shoulder, to the right of the seagull

) and they're at the beach. Also, it's a LAW that you should look happy in a photograph. So there.

@2L8 : No, you're not strange. That's a VERY attractive dog.

He is, however, in a committed relationship with the sealion on the other side of the picture.

No worries, Si, I will get paid. It's just a bit annoying 'coz I thought we had sorted all this crap out last week and knew what was wanted. I'm reasonably happy with the picture, and just don't particularly want to change it.

It's not right that he can change his mind after that hard work. But a good idea of yours to paint over the tuxedo and wedding dress. I'm sure he should agree to that and I hope that he pays you for the work you have already done

It's a bit mad, but it was fun. Just got a phonecall though - the guy who was looking for it has changed his mind!

He reckons he wants a picture of a bride and groom instead!

I dunno - it IS for a wedding party, so I suppose that makes sense. I just wish he'd told me before he ordered this one. Still, no big deal.

I can just paint a tuxedo and a wedding dress onto these characters. I won't panic, he's calling around tomorrow to look at this, and he may decide to stick with this picture. Worst case scenario, I'll sell this picture elsewhere

and get another job out of him...
