My backyard villa

My wife and myself figured that we were probably not going to get away to the sun this summer, so we converted the wall of our neighbour's extension into a rustic farmhouse (complete with broken window) and rural mountain village.

We're thinking of putting the seaside further down the garden.

My wife painted the village about five years ago in a gap in the ivy on the wall. This year we decided to clear the ivy and add the blockwork, window, and steps. Hanging the basket and building up the ground in front of it gives it a sense of depth.

We're enjoying it. We're even getting enough good weather to sit out in the evenings.

@ simonmackie : Extremely Des and very Ina - you could say it's a desina (designer - geddit?) garden.biggrin.gif

@ HSBCartoon : No - the neighbour still has no idea his extension backs onto a Tuscan mountain farmhouse. Shades of Narnia...

And the neighbour know it?
