Well, as for the Wee Free Men, forget about Kidby and have a closer look at the ... well ... SMURFS! First time, I read about the blue gnomes, I thought: Um, they're sort of celtic smurfs!
The Wee Free Men deserve a picture of their own. Hoots and crivens, there's ainly one Nac Mac Feegle! They wouldnae share a frame with a gaggle o' haverin' bigjobs!
MUST draw Nac Mac Feegle. Again, curses on KIdby. He's defined the discworld.
Nearly top marks, Tommes. The dog's name is Gaspode, and Errol was the dragon. I'm patting myself on the back here - good to know the likenesses are there.
A guy I met at the Discworld / Pratchett convention here in Ireland thought Gaspode looks too clean. I'm inclined to agree, but I'd have to do a detailed individual sketch of Gaspode to get the real scruffiness and "walking privy carpet with halitosis" look.
I don't think I got Errol right either - he's a bit too plump, and the nostrils aren't big enough. I was trying not to refer to Paul Kidby's artwork - Damn him, he has nailed the Pratchett style and it's nearly impossible to avoid looking like he's the source material.
Thanks for the comments, Tommes. The drawings were quick and off-the-cuff. I must try again. I have a Hogfather with Detritus picture somewhere that I'm a bit happier with. It's a sort of Hogswatch/Christmas card. I might post it up if I can find it.
Ok - Des - let's try from left to right: Esme Weatherwax, Nobby Nobs, Nanny Ogg/Death (same height), luggage and Rincewind, Mostrum Ridcully, forgot the name of the talking dog as well as that of the swamp dragon, and finally Tiffany Wee Very nice drawing - all the characters are very well done and recognizeable!!!
