How's work?

I started this yesterday evening as a study of a fairly cheerful bloke, but then I started remembering some of the duller days of my previous employment and started projecting them into the face on the page!

Believe it or not, the original picture I used as a reference was a photo of Damon Albarn ( he of Blur and Gorillaz ) during an interview. The other thing that occurred to me was Terry Pratchett's idea in "Eric/Faust" that Hell was now a set of office cubicles run by petty beaurocrats.

Hey, this is definitely an excellent drawing of yours, des!

P.S.: Did you know Photoshop includes some BLUR filters? wink.gif

It's a cool drawing. I like how you worked the shadows in his face. And I'm a die-hard Blur and Gorillaz fan, too! Three thumbs up, plus five starsdoubletop.giftop.gif

Dude, I survived the whole Beatles v Stones thing, then found myself in the Blur versus Oasis controversy.mixed.gif Now, I might be biased because I was TRYING to teach art and computers to a class of kids at the time that included in their number a muppet who insisted on singing "Sunshine Supernova" in the style of the Gallagher brothers at the top of his voice at the drop of a hat, smelling.gif but Blur won hands down, notwithstanding my ongoing affection for the Beatles and my sympathies for the wannabe's. THEN Albarn goes on to start Gorillaz!

For my money, the art of art is constant re-invention, and Damon Albarn is an artist.

By the way, it wasn't intended to be a portrait. I just use body poses as references. tongue.gif

As regards colour, it's just a quick sketch. I might re-visit in the next few days. Colour is always an option.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.

I think it's great top.gif
And woah ... someone out there still knows Blur ... I'm absolutely overwhelmed, because they're ... well, one of my most favourite bands ever.
Although I have to say, this devil doesn't look too much like Albarn, but his body position fits quite good wink.gif
Will you color it some day?
