Hit and Myth
This was a sketch for a mural - it features the spirit of Setanta, also known as Cú Chulainn or The Hound of Culann, who killed the giant dog of Culann using his skill in the game of hurling. He's looming up behind a modern player.
I've nearly been killed a few times myself when a bunch of enthusiasts have more power than accuracy when they hit the ball in my vicinity. The ball, or sliothar, is small and hard and travels very fast.
The celtic curlicues are freeform - I make 'em up as I go along, and they should not be mistaken for the real stuff which is carefully designed and meticulously drawn. Colours are done in marker.
