Ich meine, dass zu den deprimierendsten Geschichten auf Englisch "The Little Match Girl" gehört - was wir mit ziemlicher Sicherheit von den Deutschen bekommen haben - und auch Shel Silversteins "The Giving Tree". Was denken Sie?

Jau, "The Little Match Girl" ist ziemlich traurig. Ich habe mal im Kino einen Kurzfilm dazu gesehen und habe danach erst mal nur geheult...

Sehr schön der Kommentar von @Matze_malt, natürlich die Bücher nicht auf die Lunge zu legen. ;)

H. C. Andersens »The Little Match Girl« = mirror-image of a heartless fellow men (until today). This old fairy tale allways makes readers cry (for me, I feel that way).

See: »The Little Match Girl« (US Color Rhapsody Cartoon 1937) is selling matches on the streets of NY City to make her living ...

And: Muscleman on the left side with strong right arm - three heavy books at once ... ;-)

At last a medical advice: In case of corona (covid-19) never put heavy books on the lungs (it might be a heavier work for the heart-lung-machine).
