Coping with Bereavement

This story is one I was offered as part of the " Layer Zero - Survival" anthology which was to be published by Insomnia. Insomnia, unfortunately, went out of business. The anthology was salvaged by a writers and artists co-op called Sleepless Phoenix, and the anthology is now in print.

Martin Hayes was the author of this piece. It's not my usual style, and I found it difficult to develop an approach to it that was comfortable for me. The final result is an uneven piece of work, but that's entirely my fault.

Many thanks for the kind words - but I really had to struggle a bit with this piece. I don't particularly like in-your-face horror, so I pulled it back a lot from where Martin probably wanted it to be. It's possibly too restrained... I dunno. I was fine for the first page and the fourth page, but motor vehicles and dead bodies are difficult for me..

Maybe I'm too picky...
