to BellaDonna : thanks for your visit on my site. And thanks for writting in french !
to karl : there's as much to discover in a stick of wood than in an entire forest. I do surprise myself allready for each gag of bonom I draw. Surprise to find an other idea, and the rythm that make it works. If you realy lissen to baroque music you will discover how rich it is... For some people every kind of jazz music is just jazz. Others can dicern every musician style from the others.
So instead of asking for more surprise, be yourself more curious and more attentive. Anyway Bonom is a specific research, and I perfectly understand you'd be not interested in.
you didn't sound harsh at all. My english isn't that good any way.
Some people arn't bored by Bonom. A lot are even impressed by the way it invents new ideas with so constrainious manners. Maybe you don't see the differences between a gag and one other. But some others do. For some people baroque music is always the same, for others each peace is totally different from an other one. It's a question of getting in.
I do think that less is more ! (The guy I was talking about is Mies van der Rohe, one of the greatest architect of the XXst century)
I give you 10% of it in the way there are ten times the number of gags allready showned here... but that's probably not the way you meaned it.
So, no tomatoes : there are no objects in bonom's comics. Sorry.
If i did sound a little bit harsh that´s only because my Enlish isn´t that good. And I wanted to summon up what the others said. The problem is that you are delivering us more of the same and this is really very boring. If I see some of your strips I only think: "Ah, I´ve seen that befor." And I don´t think that less is more. There is so much potential in what you are doing. But you are only giving us 10% of it. Blow something up! Throw tomatoes at us! Annoy us! But please don´t get boring!
I know, since a long time, that some people hate my work at the same time some love it ! The ratings Bonom allready had on toons up confirm
Bonom is mostly a graphic play on space and time, permited by comic media. And nothing more. This gag, for instance, let reader think there's a continuous space between panels, but finally show that it's much more a continuous time, wich changes the interpretation of the begining we, and bonom, could have. It's that kind of architecture, with so minimal manners I'm interested in. Less is more, as a German guy said. Also, bonom is a serie, wich works on multiple variations on the same constrains.
Maybe I shoudn't post it here, since it's far away from any drawing style research, but that's not my purpose. But someone of toonsup community proposed me to do so after he discovered Bonom on my own site (www.bonom.lu), and that was very kind of him. I don't have other projects to show you. Bonom is the only work I want to show yet. I do some illustrations too, but it as nothing to do with this website : stage design and exhibit project roughs, that I do for my work...
Anyway, I appreciate any kind of criticism, and I'm glad some people realy appreciate my work here.
i think that is your own style. But the other artists doesn´t like your work, because your choice of this theme is make them boring. ( i try to do my best to write in english, sorry if i make some misstakes...) They wanna see more actions, background, a short story, to explain why he is do something. I think this kind of comic is nice, but we want see more of not one theme.
If you have some idea... U can show us, what U have. dont worry, , we are allways want the best and i hope you can accept our words...
