The third one was intended as a metaphor for the Iraq war at the time. Not necessarily to defend George W's policy but more to identify with the common American G.I. caught in a bad situation.

Btw,the plaque reads,"We are many we are team. We are here to build the dream. Through thick and thin the bitter end. We will always be best of friends."

Again very nice strips!
Especially the last one. People here on toonsUp claim they'd written long comments that disappeared when submitted, too. But I don't believe them ;)
