@Java : Thanks for that link - really nice work there, very well observed, very spontaneous. J'ai essayé quelquechose comme ca, mais pas tres souvent.

@Tommes: Yeah, I imagine it's a problem with a writer like Pratchett when the fun is so much in his use of language - translation is always an issue because puns and wordplay are so unique to each language. Books like Asterix and Tintin owe much of their success in anglophone territory to their translators, although the original versions are undoubtedly excellent in their own right.

@des: Thanks - nice if you can understand my intentions by my words....
Going postal is one great book, isn't it?! I love it - but in Germany we have to suffer some rather bad translations of Pratchett's books - so one has to have a go at the english original to have all the fun a Pratchett book can provide....I am looking forward to see what you will come up with about Going Postal....top.gifexcellent.gif

Your English is both excellent and very clear, Tommes, and your kind words are very much appreciated. I've gotta start drawing again, though. I'm re-reading my Pratchett collection at the moment - just finished "Going Postal". I might have a go at something from that...

Live sketching can be risky. Live painting more so, particularly up a ladder if some "witty" guy decides it's fun to shake the ladder.angry.gif

Diese Studien sind sehr interessant!!Klasse Arbeiten hab ich früher in Kneipen aus`ner dunklen Ecke heraus auch immer gemacht,einer wollt mich mal verhlol.gifauen als er bemerkte das ich ihn zeichnete!!Man lebt gefährlich als zeichner!!!!!cry.gif
