@MacOneill First i thought the reference could be inspired by a sports bag that i´d wear in the early 80-ties. But failed... that was a summer sports theme. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/BSMAAOSwys5WVDpe/s-l400.jpg
So my 2nd suspicion is...that you was inspired by the Cartoon "The Art Of Skiing", from 1941, isn´t it? The refernce are the colors of the tracksuit!

Wasn't my intention to suggest the strip looked like a Barks story, just that the standard was worthy of Disney at its best.

I was not counting that one, It was a single page, I was more thinking about long stories ( and I do not draw Mickey in that fashion too I think , a bit old fashion )
here it is : https://inducks.org/story.php?c=W+OS+++79-01&pg=1#scans
Anyway thanks for liking my Mickey and goofy :D
There a reference hidden in my comic page , did you find it ?

Your wrong about Barks. He drew a (single) Mickey story. Don't remember the title, though.
I like your interpretation of Goofy, by the way, he looks great.
