Dieses Treffen fand an einem heißen Juliwochenende im Atelierhaus Aachen statt.
Bommel und seine Liebste Anett hatten alles hervorragend organisiert: Ein riesiger inspirierender Raum stand uns zur Verfügung, eine Küche mit Kühlschrank und sogar eine Musikanlage nebst Disco-Kugel.
Auch bei der Pressearbeit war Bommel sehr erfolgreich. Hier ein Artikel über das Treffen im Klenkes und einer in der Aachener Zeitung. In letzterem wurde gar von 500 Zeichnern gesprochen, die sich treffen (ganz so viele wurden es dann doch nicht).
Hösti baute sein eindrucksvolles Equipment auf und demonstrierte Live-Zeichnen für alle interessierten Gäste per Beamer. Überhaupt hatten wir am Samstag das Haus voll mit Besuchern - vor allem vielen Familien und zeichenbegabten Kindern.

Zuletzt noch ein nicht ganz ernst gemeinter Erfahrungsbericht von Lupino:
Also ich fands ja total enttäuschend! Fing schon mit dem ersten Abend an - ich hatte eigentlich mit einem Empfang durch die Honoratioren der Stadt Aachen gerechnet - Eintrag ins goldene Buch, etwas Kammermusik, paar Ansprachen, Schnittchen und Sekt - aber nein, schleppt uns der Bommel in diese Kneipe WO DIE MUSIK UMPFUMPFUMPF SO LAUT UMPFUMPF WAR, UMPFUMPFUMPF, dass man sein eigenes Wort nicht versteht.
Die anschließende Stadtführung hats dann auch nicht mehr rausgerissen, noch nicht mal Kaiser Karl - immerhin Erfinder des heiligen römischen Reichs deutscher Nation (oder umgekehrt?) - war erleuchtet. Wenn dafür schon das Geld fehlt - armes Deutschland.
Und am nächsten Tag gings dann weiter, diese Toonsup-Kollegen, alle so furchtbar gutgelaunt und zu Scherzen aufgelegt - sowas bin ich nicht gewohnt.
Ich hatte mir ja neulich beim Nasebohren diese schlimme Zeigefingerverstauchung zugezogen und der Arzt sagte, ich soll erstmal nur mit nem weichen Bleistift zeichen, aber nehmen die Kollegen darauf Rücksicht? Nein! Andauernd musste ich in irgendwelche Poesiealben malen, keinen Moment Pause hat man gehabt.
Zu allem Überfluss tauchten dann beim öffentlichen Teil dann auch noch Kinder auf. KINDER! KREISCH! Wo doch jeder weiß, dass ich diese schreckliche Kinderallergie habe!
Naja, nachdem der Notarzt mir die Spritze gegeben hatte, gings ja wieder.
Und am nächsten Morgen zum Frühstück - kein Kaviar, kein Lachs, keine Creme aus Nachtigallenzungen aus der inneren Mongolei, nein, ganz profan Wurst, Käse und Marmelade, dazu als Weißbrot getarnter Zwieback - und dafür bezahlt man - öhm, na gut - war umsonst, Schwamm drüber.
Immerhin, eine Sache lässt mich die ganze Veranstaltung doch in einem milderen Licht sehen, so dass ich mich eventuell nochmal dazu herablasse, ein weiteres Mal in Aachen zu erscheinen:
