Hm, it's possible. I could have changed Gerald's speech into a thought ("I think... after all this time, Rosalie is finally warming up to me!", and then done away with the second panel entirely. Yes, that could have worked. Thanks for your suggestion mightystumpi, I'll try to pay more attention to see if a joke can be trimmed down :D

this comic could have won more, if there was nothing said in the second panel. think of it.
the joke is obvious after all.

Glad you liked it! The strip is cruel, which I think is a good possible start when trying to write something funny

oh dear - this is sad somehow.
Sad and funny. I cant decide what its more for me - sad or funny.
Maby it depends on my actual mood. I think its saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad ;-)
